The Johnsonville Lions Club is one of more than 41,360 clubs which form Lions Clubs International with over 1.4 million members in 186 countries around the world.
We are part of District 32C, which covers 14 counties in the Pee Dee region. Multiple District 32 is the four Districts in South Carolina. Each club elects its own officers each year and the clubs then elect a District Governor to administer District duties. The Governors for each District form a Council to administer the Multiple District. Lion Ruth Smith served as District Governor 2001 - 2002. Lion Ian Smith served as District Governor 1991 -1992, and then as Chairman of the Council of Governors and President of South Carolina Lions Charitable Services Inc. All members are encouraged to take part in District, Multiple District and International activities.
We raise money for our community and charitable projects and programs by activities such as Candy Day, Broom & Bulb sales and selling Community Calendars. We are always looking for additional fund raising ideas.
The Club meets on the second and fourth Wednesday each month at 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at 'The Hop' Diner on Highway 41/51 near Hemingway.
