Projects & Services

The South Carolina Lions Eye Research Center is located at the Storm Eye Institute in the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). The SC Lions Eye Research Center has conducted many basic research projects funded by the Lions of SC. The success of several of these projects has led to further funding by grants from the National Institutes of Health. These projects do much to advance the science of vision care and repair and the prestige of our State in the medical community. Currently, the SC Lions goal is to raise funds to support the addition of two research professor chairs at the University. Funds raised by Lions will be matched by the SC State Lottery. The Florence Lions Club participates in this project.
